Lulu ME. Elmore, daughter of Henry and Rebecca Seits, was born at Guano (Guion?) , in Parke County, Indiana, April 27, 1893. Her parents moved to Waveland when she was quite small, where she grew to womanhood. On December 28, 1909, she was united in marriage to Albert M.E. Elmore, and immediately and her husband went to the home of his father, near Alamo, where they lived for about a year. They then went to housekeeping on a farm near his father's home there they resided until she was afflicted with tumor of the brain about two and one-half years ago. She was then brought to the home of her mother where all was done that lay in human power to prolong her life and restore her health. Yet it was not to be, for in the early morning hours at the age of 37 years, 4 months and one day, leaving to mourn, a devoted mother, her husband, one son, James, four daughters, Margaret. LeMoin, Edith and Ethel, two brothers, Albert Seits of Terre Haute, and Will Seits of Indianapolis, one sister, Mrs. Harry Lamson of Waveland, two half-brothers, Jesse Alward of Lafayette, and James Alward at home, one half-sister, Mrs. John Alward of Waveland, and other relatives together with a host of friends limited only by her acquaintances. Several years ago she united with the Christian Church at Alamo and as long as her health permitted she was in her place at the hour of worship. She was also a member of the Alamo Pocahantas Lodge and always ready to do her part. She was of a cheerful disposition and always had a bright smile and pleasant word for all. Although her suffering was great, she bore it all without complaining and very often expressed her readiness to go. Funeral serviced were held at the Christian Church, Friday afternoon, in charge Rev. H. Hugo assisted by Rev. Francis McCarty. Pall bearers were Lawrence and John Mulligan, Gordon Robinson, Fred Pollit, Chas. McCarty and George Lamson. Mrs. Charles Moore and Virginia Moore with Miss Margaret Louise Sharp at the piano, sang "Unclouded Day," "Jesus Leads" and "Rock of Ages." Burial at Union Cemetery. Among those present from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. Leo Hitchens of Roachdale, Mrs. Grace Dwillinger and daughter of Steam Corner, Mr. Roy Blaydes of Roachdale, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Meals, Mr. and Mrs. Roscoe Elmore and daughter, Helen, Mr. and Mrs. James B. Elmore, James, Margaret, Lemoine, Edith and Ethel Elmore, Mr. Pickett and Sam Will, Mrs. Newkirk and a number of others from Alamo; Mr. and Mrs. Will Seits, Sam Walter and Miss Vera Lamson of Indianapolis, Mrs. Gilliland and Mrs. Albert Seits of Terre Haute, Mrs. Sherman Call of Rockville, Mrs. S. C. Fletcher, Miss Imogene Shoaf, and Geo. Alward of Crawfordsville - kbz
